The house projects continue :)

The bedroom project is moving along! We are really starting to feel better about the project. At the moment we are painting and it's going rather quickly when we have the time to do it. A few nights ago Josh painted most of the ceilings. Last night Josh and I painted the hallway and the coat closet. By the end of the weekend we hope to have everything painted and have a start on the wood for the hallway walls. At this point we are thinking of finishing the hallway so we can start using the 1st floor laundry and coat closet and side entrance. There's still lots to do, but it's exciting to think about the finished project.

This is our bedroom: We put 2 coats of primer on the drywall.
Here is a picture of part of the hallway. The opening on the left will be our laundry closet. If you were to walk straight and then left you would be in our bedroom. If you were to walk straight and right you would reach the coat closet and outside door/garage door.
Same view..just painted. The bottom portion of the wall will be covered in wood. We custom cut boards to match the wood in living room.

Time for an update :)

This week has been a crazy one. It seems like everyone is getting sick around here. All the guys had/or have some sort of cold/flu. I had a day of not feeling well, but I'm a Mom and I can't take a day off. We've been very lucky this season as far as colds go, but when we do get them...boy are they NOT fun!

It's been a long time since I've posted so I'll give you a brief update on everyone.

Josh- working hard at work, as always :) He is also back on the bedroom project :) We took a break from working on it and now he works on the bedroom after work and on free weekends. Right now he's finishing the drywall in the bedroom, bathroom, and two other closets in the hallway. It will be very exciting to finish this project!

Ian- Just celebrated the 100th day of school last week. He is loving school and is learning so much. I love to listen to him read to me. It's so exciting!! He is involved in AWANAS and is finishing up in a bowling league.

Nathan- Is getting into everything. He loves books and his new favorite characters are Bob the Builder and Thomas the Train. We must read Bob 10 times a day!

Me- I'm keeping busy taking care of the boys and house, going to playdates, library and attending my MOPS meetings. I'm the new Sunday School teacher at church. It's a small class, but I think we'll have lots of fun learning about the Bible.

Hope you are all doing well!! xxx

Memorial Weekend Fun

This past week my parents and sister came up to visit. It was a busy weekend!

On Saturday we watched Ian play t-ball.

After the game with went to the Coal Festival in Blossburg. They had amusement rides, a car show, a band, lots of fun, and a reptile show.
Ian is driving the bummer car. I needed to ride with him since he couldn't reach the pedals. He's a crazy driver!

There was lots of bumping going on!
Riding the Dragon

The guys watching Ian on the Dragon Josh and Dad went fishing Saturday night. No didn't have any luck with the fish, but had fun outside
On Sunday we went to the Fly In Breakfast at the local airport. The breakfast is always great and we look forward to this event twice a year.
Grandpa and Ian

Aunt Nessa and Ian

This is a beautiful airplane and it looked like I arrived in it. We matched perfectly! It was awesome to watch them!

This one was ready to take off..don't forget me ;)
After the Fly In, Josh and I went on a date while my parents watched the kids. We went to the GlassFest in Corning, Ny and then had dinner at the Texas Roadhouse. It was a relaxing evening out!
On Monday we went to breakfast at the Wellsboro Diner and then watched the parade on Main St.

Later that day Vanessa and I went to the bike trail and rode about 7 miles.

The weather was beautiful most of the weekend. It rained on Monday night, but by that point everyone was tired so we hungout and watched movies.

Happy 1st Birthday Nathan Alexander

Our little boy turned ONE this past week. It was very exciting and sad at the same time. He’s growing up so fast and doing so many new things. We had a birthday dinner and cake on Tuesday. Nathan loves when I make roast and veggies, so that’s what we had for dinner. I made a little ducky cake for him to smash and then a miniature birthday cake for us.

Since we were having a ducky themed party. I found a cute t-shirt on the net. It says, Life is Just Ducky When Your 1! Nathan will not keep a hat of any kind on so we passed up the cute birthday hats.
Happy Birthday to YOU, Happy Birthday to YOU!

Dig In!

We were waiting for Nathan to eat his cake before we cut the other cake. Ian got desperate to taste the cake. Nathan loved sharing his ducky!

Where did the cake go??? ALL OVER!

Last Sunday we had Nathan's 1st Birthday Party at Knoebels. We had our loving family and wonderful friends there to share it with us. Thank you for making it so special!

I made these little thank yous filled with chocolate duckies.

Knoebels is about two hours from our house. How do we get the cake there??? I didn't want to put it in the bed of the truck in fear that it would slide and the ducky would fall apart. So I held on to it and there were no major causalities ;)

When we got to Knoebels we decorated the tables and then had some time before everyone arrived so Josh took Ian on some rides.

Our FaMiLy ;)

Nathan having some watermelon. His new favorite food.

Thank you to Tim and Grammy for making sure Nanna arrived safely to the party.
There were a bunch of monkeys at the party

Ian helped with blowing out the candle.

Nathan was exhausted after all of the birthday festivities. He took a very long nap and missed going on most of the rides. Here is another cute shirt I found on the net.
Balloons are great entertainment!
This is Ian's favorite ride at Knoebels!

I think the boys were trying to get Jen to go on the rollercoaster again.

Ferris Wheel, the one ride we all went on.

Since all the kids wanted to go on the rides after the birthday cake we decided to take the presents home. Nathan enjoyed pulling things out of the bags, but getting him to unwrap wrapping paper was another thing.

Where's Nathan??

He's already a dare devilALL DONE!
