Welcome to the World

Nathan didn't want to come out on his own, so I was scheduled to be induced. We arrived at the hospital around 9am on Monday and they quickly began the induction process. It was a rather long day waiting for Nathan. I had enough waiting and was ready to hold our little boy. Finally he decided he was ready to join our family and with two pushes our healthy little boy was out.

Nathan Alexander Long was born on May 11, 2009 at 9:05 pm.
He weighed 7 pounds 15.5 ounces and measured 21 inches

My Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday!!! Ian was an excellent boy and didn't complain at all!

Josh surprised me and ordered an oxygen concentrator so I can work on my new hobby, glassworking. At our old place I worked in the garage, but since we moved I really didn't have a place to work. Josh spent most of Saturday and some of Sunday building a work area so I can continue with glassworking.
My custom fire box with ventilation.
Pretty glass rods! Josh custom powdercoated my torch Hot Pink (it's called the Cricket by GTT)

Thank you Josh and Ian for allowing me to have a relaxing and exciting Mother's Day. I love you guys!

Bike Riding

Tonight (Tuesday) was Ian's second night practicing riding without training wheels and he did it! We went to the Pine Creek bike trail to practice because it is fairly flat and has a softer landing in case he fell. Now that he knows how to ride on two wheels he's able to get a bigger bike. We are very excited for Ian.

Here are some pictures of Ian riding his bike at the park on Wednesday. He wanted to practice some more!

Water Fun

Earlier this week it was very warm with temperatures reaching 93 degrees. It felt so much hotter because of the dramatic change from the 60s we had only days before. Ian begged us to get his pool out, but since we knew it wouldn't last we brought out the next best thing...the sprinkler. Ian had a blast in the water and I relaxed and enjoyed watching him.

Hiking the PA Grand Canyon

Yesterday Ian and I decided to hike the PA Grand Canyon. It's very convenient for us since it's a 10 minute drive from our house. Being two days away from my due date and going into labor was a slight concern, but I figured we'd try it anyway. The views and the fresh air were worth it!
My photo shoot with Ian...

We saw this deer and it saw us, but it didn't run away. It kept eating the ground covering. Ian enjoyed watching him since we don't see many in our backyard anymore.
