Logs

For months now we've been on a list to get logs so we would could heat our house this coming winter. We never received calls about the logs so Josh decided to get on a few lists so that we would be sure to have wood for the winter. Well the original company kept saying that they were going to bring us wood and they never showed. This past Friday they finally showed up with a triaxel of wood. When the driver got here he told us he wasn't able to use our driveway because the power lines were too low. At that point we thought we were destined not to get wood. Well, the driver was able to use the neighbors driveway to unload the logs. He took out some branches on our pine trees, but it was worth it. Once the driver unloaded the logs he set off down the street. As Josh was watching him, his phone rang. Guess who it was, another logging company. We were next in line for a load of logs. Josh had a feeling that would happen! Since it took so long to get one load we decided to get both loads and we'll be set for at least the next two winters. Now Josh has tons of wood to cut and Ian and I will be stacking wood all summer.

My Glass Art

Last week I spent a couple of nights working with my glass. Ian's VBS was having an auction to raise money for Heifer and they asked people to bring in handmade items. I decided to make a necklace for the auction. This is my first finished project :)

Vacation Bible School

Last week was a crazy one for us. Ian had Vacation Bible School in the morning and then one at night. The theme in the morning was Crocodile Dock and the theme at night was Rome. Ian had a blast at both Vacation Bible Schools. He learned about God, learned songs and dances, tried new foods and spent time with his friends and met some new friends.
Here is a picture of Ian at the final night in Rome.

Week Six: Aunt Gretel's wedding

This week was a busy one. We decided to camp out at QuakerWoods the weekend of the 19th in our enclosed trailer (it almost feels like an over sized hard top tent), so we needed to pack the house (well it felt that way). It took forever to pack everything we needed for the baby. We didn't use half of the things we packed, but we had them. I think the hardest part was being 4 hours away from the house and realizing that we couldn't just run to the house if we forgot something. Gretel (Josh's sis) married Brad on Saturday. It was a fun time. Ian looked very cute in his tux! It rained Saturday, but we didn't spend much time at the campsite since we were involved in all of the wedding activities and tried to visit as many friends as possible. Some how we were able to get the kids to bed Saturday night and we enjoyed a campfire together and just chatted. We had a air mattress for Josh and Ian and a regular mattress for Me and Nathan. It was pretty comfy (for camping that is)!

Week Five: Week of June 8th

Josh started to work on the half bathroom. He tore the bottom half of the wall out (there was paneling that was glued to the original drywall), two layers of floor and then began to redo the drywall and also added an electrical outlet.

The weekend of the 13th was the start of the Laurel Festival in our town. On Saturday, Ian, Nathan and I went to Family Day and had lots of fun walking around to all of the activities. Ian's favorite thing was the bouncy house and hanging on the ropes. We also went to the airport where they had RC planes flying, real planes coming and going and a car show. We went on a train ride and enjoyed the scenery of the lake. We all ended the night by hanging out by the campfire at Jen and Jim's cabin. We were getting ready for our train ride. Nathan fell asleep to the train's vibration. A real plane... RC plane...that one was large compared to some others we saw. We even saw one RC plane crash into an orange cone. Josh spent a few days at Corning Glass in New York working the Glass Art Society show. He enjoyed meeting and talking to artists that use the torches he builds. We even had the opportunity to have Lance and Maureen from Flame Tree Glass come to our house to give me a glass demo. It was awesome!! I felt a little lost and didn't know where to start, but after they left I had some idea of how to make a nice looking glass bead. A big thank you to them for spending their time with us :)

Just some pictures to capture our boys together :)

To me it looks like Nathan is going to punch Ian. Oh boy!

Week Four: Visiting Nana and Knoebels Trip

We took a trip to visit Nana. While in Elysburg we went to Knoebels. Ian has been waiting for the trip to Knoebels since the day I delivered. He thought we would go as soon as I had Nathan.

Week Three: Memorial Day Weekend

Friday afternoon Ian had his last bowling session at Laurel Lanes and received his first trophy. Later that night Aunt Vanessa, Mom and Dad Segaline came to visit us for Memorial Day weekend. That weekend the guys and Vanessa went fishing. We had enough fish for dinner! Josh and Ian camped out in a tent in our back yard and everyone made s'mores by the campfire. Sunday morning we went to the airport and had a pancake breakfast and watched the airplanes take off and land.
