Our new house project

Yesterday we picked up our new windows and storm door in NY. Today we began the demo to the breezeway and were able to install the master bedroom window. Josh spent 11 hours on the backside of the house. He removed windows, a door, log siding and needed to reframe the wall. I was in and out when Nathan was sleeping and Ian had fun pushing his truck through the puddles.

We will be working on this project all fall/winter, but really needed to get the outside work finished before it snowed again. It was a beautiful day to work on the house.

Here is Josh taking the wood paneling and plywood off to expose the beams.Going into the garage to get more tools. We removed the door and old single pane windows.
Josh and I chalking a line so that he can cut the hole for the new window. Ian took this picture and the next two.
You never know what will be on the camera when Ian takes pictures.
This was a cute one. The leaves on our tree just turned yellow. The new window. It has a center picture window with a double hung window on either side.
I think this picture is sideways, but we found a hornets nest in the wall. Thankfully it was an old one. Everything is out, but it was time for a dinner break.
Josh finishing the frame for the window.Josh screwing in some nails. He and I lifted the window into the frame. It was extremely heavy. I recommend using more than two people. Thankfully the next window isn't as big.

The view from outside. I wonder if we will have any visitors tonight.I am thankful for a wonderful husband. (I know I've said this before, but I'm amazed by everything he's able to do) This project will be a very exciting and fulfilling one for us as a family.

Ian's 5th Birthday Party at our house

This year we had a fall themed birthday party for Ian. With the snow on the ground it felt a little more like winter. We had lots of great food and fun activities for the kids. We enjoyed everyone and are grateful that we have made new friends.

Josh and I made Ian's cake. It had a chocolate and vanilla layer of cake with some raspberry filling in the center. The icing was buttercream.
Opening presents was chaotic! I couldn't get many pictures.

Ian was very happy to have his friends by his side

Snow in October

Ian wanted it to snow all summer. It was a big surprise when they called for snow last week. It snowed 3 days straight. We got around 6 inches, just enough for Ian to play in. The snow was a little too sticky for him to use his snowboard, but it was great for making snowballs and snowmen. These pictures are from when it first started to snow.

Ian loves to make tracks in the snow.
Who doesn't love to eat the snow?

The Weekend of Oct.9th- Wedding and Fall Festival

After having Ian's birthday party at Grammy's house, we headed down to Maryland on Friday for my friend Colleen's wedding. She married John Sadak. They had a lovely wedding. Josh, Nathan, and I had a wonderful time. Colleen is a friend I met at the 2002 College Disney Program. She was the first person I met in line and we've stayed in touch ever since. I'm glad we were able to make the trip down to be part of their special day.

The ceremony was held at the Pell Gardens in Chesapeake City, MDColleen and her DadThe new Mr & Mrs Sadak

We stayed with Aunt Mary and Uncle Ed for the weekend. They watched Ian while we were at the wedding. A big thank you to them. I know Ian had a exciting time with them and Eddy on Friday night. On Saturday we went to a fall festival. A huge thank you to Uncle Ed for the pictures!
